Why is Thane conducting this Recall for the Orbitrek Elite and Magnetic Elite?It has come to our attention that the placement of a spring washer is incorrectly described on page 5 (five) of the written assembly instructions included with the Orbitrek Elite and Magnetic Elite. If the spring washer is incorrectly installed, the connections may loosen and permit undue stress and bolt damage, which could pose a fall hazard to consumers. Thane is unaware of any reported injuries due to the improper placement of the spring washer.
All Orbitrek Elite, model number BK2080 and Magnetic Elite, model number BK2280 are subject to the recall. No other Orbitrek-branded elliptical gliders are included in this recall.

If the spring washer has been installed correctly; please perform all regular product maintenance by inspecting and tightening the bolts and lock nuts prior to continued use of the product.
If the spring washer has NOT been installed correctly; please disassemble the pedals of your product. Inspect the pedal hinge bolts and crank for damage. If the bolts and crank show no signs of damage or excess wear, reassemble the pedals following the new instructions.
