Don Sullivan has a reputation for being the "best of the best" when it comes to dog training. He is able to achieve results where all others have failed. Time and again he amazes owners and audiences by dramatically changing the behavior of challenging dogs within minutes. Whether you have a brand new puppy or an older dog well set in his ways, Don’s expertise will help you create a relationship with your dog that, so far, you have only dreamed about!
Don Sullivan has been a professional animal trainer and dog behaviorist since 1986. His experience includes work with killer whales, sea lions and seals at the former Sealand of the Pacific. His favorite photo of all time is of his faithful German Short Haired Pointer, "Wise" (1985-2002), and a sea lion, walking together along the observation deck. Wise was so well trained that she had a "free access" pass inside the marine park. Another favorite is a picture of her climbing a ladder at a children's playground which she so often loved to do; one of many fun and unique skills that Don taught her over the years.
Don's vision as a professional trainer is to not just train dogs. He seeks to transform the lives of dogs and their owners into positive relationships based on respect and freedom. Don remembers the trauma he experienced when his dad came home one day with the family Beagle puppy in his arms, bloody and limp. The puppy had escaped the house and was hit by a car. The hit was fatal. Back then Don did not know it was possible to train his little dog to respect boundaries. Now he knows otherwise and one of his key missions as "The DogFather" is to empower dog owners worldwide to train their canine companions to stay safe.
As an older child Don came to expect little from typical dog training classes. Another family dog, "Major", a German Shepherd, had so called "passed with flying colors" from obedience school, yet the dog was a menace at home. Canine and family lived in chaos together despite the fact that Major knew very well how to "sit", "stay" and "come". Major simply would not obey in the real world!
As a professional, Don sought to develop a system that would not only educate and empower owners to communicate with their dogs on an effective level, but also how to gain their dogs' respect so that their dogs would willingly follow their lead in all situations.
Don Sullivan: "So often I witness situations where the family dog is constantly causing disruption. Given that the owners do not have the knowledge to correctly deal with the dog, the problem grows worse. For the rest of its days the dog leads a restricted life. The owners experience constant guilt, and both parties feel frustrated and dissatisfied with their lives together."
"Every dog owner dreams of having a "Lassie" type relationship with their dog. With so many training aids on the market, and a plethora of information from schools to books and even television shows, why is it that very few owners ever achieve this dream? Is it an unrealistic dream? No. A dog never fails training; it is the training that fails the dog. I have seen the "Lassie" type dream come true in my own life with all my dogs and, over the years, I have helped countless others achieve the same," says Don. "And", he adds, "it honestly does not take that long. All the dogs in my "Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog" show were literally transformed within minutes - no tricks, no magic; I simply use a System that works, on all dogs, no matter the breed, size or age."
Don Sullivan’s success has enabled him to host his own national Canadian television show, “Doggin’it”; it has also earned him the role of guest media expert, with appearances throughout the United States, Australia, England and Canada on TV, radio and in print publications. Don has been sought after as an expert witness for court cases dealing with aggressive dogs, and he has been hired as an Aggression Specialist Trainer for animal control officers.

It is also useful for brand new larger breed puppies, for the first weeks of their training.
